Just wanted to pop in to give a little farewell cheer to Stephanie of Little Birds, who has decided to part ways with her blog. I’m not sure when I first encountered Little Birds, but hers is the kind of work that was a revelation to me when I first began to discover craft blogs. I’ve never had a sense of being at home anywhere on the whole spectrum of art / craft / design / illustration. I never knew there were people out there making things, simple handcrafted things, of such beautiful design and spirit. Things that weren’t too self-serious — things that might even be called cute — but created with both great care and a fantastic design sensibility. It was like discovering a new nation of people you never knew existed.

I have more to say, but it will have to wait for a future post. So tonight I’ll just say thank you, and leave it at that. Thanks Stephanie, and good luck!
