First light

arbutus tree

I finally got to see some prints from the Pentax Spotmatic — and it seems to be working great. The image above is from the first roll of film I developed. I made the contact prints today, and scanned this from them. So, it’s really blown up and my scanner made it look all soft and atmospheric. Actually, though, the images are nice and sharp.

Lots of fun running back and forth between work and school, but it is keeping me busy. Hope to catch up with you soon. Will post more this weekend.

This pic makes me yearn for the days of the old photo-lab at school. I used to take private B&W photo lessons as well & I loved the artistic control you have over your film when you hand develop it, as well as the romance of black and white film! Loved the dodge & burn :-)
Also, not to brag or anything, but I was pretty kick ass at getting the film out of the canister and onto the spooly developer thingy in the dark bag. *looks smug, and polishes nails against shirt*
