A case study in typography

squirrel1.jpg

Just popping in with a favorite bit of ephemera that recently came to me from Gary’s parents. This is the back (or maybe the front) of a coupon. It’s about 4 cm tall and at that size, the words “peanut butter” definitely hit you a couple of seconds after “Have you tried squirrel?”

Nabob coupon

This is the other side. See, it’s valuable! And my in-laws did keep it, up until now. We seem to be coming across a lot of old Nabob stuff — old glass coffee jars with beautiful shapes and labels with some nice modern typography, even the really fine print. I think some of these coupons are going to find their way into the screen printing project.
