Some headlines just write themselves

It’s wildlife baby time, and tonight this one was visiting our rock garden. I borrowed my hubby’s camera and spied on the fluffy fledgling for a while, until mama robin showed up with a nice tasty worm. All is right with this robin’s world.
At the wildlife rehab centre (Wild ARC) where I now spend [...]

Lunchbag in Beta

Here’s one thing I love about the bus: the Monday morning treat. At first I bemoaned the lack of a regular direct bus route from my park and ride lot to the University. But that was before I discovered that I switch buses right in front of my neighbor Sam’s espresso bar, 2% jazz, on [...]

Mini Memo

I am slower than molasses, but I finally finished a few of my mini memo books. First things first: behold my favorite turquoise button.

Good Finds

Acting on a tip from the delightful Robin, I scored some great 1950’s geography journals with tipped-in maps. They were on the “free” table at the University of Victoria library. I even found one with a map of the Holyoke Range in Western Massachusetts. I have great memories of many of the topographic features that [...]

Almost Summer Evening

Today, for the first time in a long time, I came home from work. I’ve had a long, lovely stretch of working from home (or not working at all) since we moved to Victoria, but last week I rejoined the ranks of the employed. When it was time to catch the bus home this afternoon, [...]

Warm & Fuzzy

Hey, its a knitting project! I made these fuzzy feet as a welcome present for my mom, who has been out visiting us, and I must say I was pleased with how they turned out. It was nice to see her wearing them around the house all week.
Alas, the fuzzy feet are tucked in a [...]
